Dr. Gururaj was raised in New York and Texas, attended Cornell University for his undergraduate studies, and received his medical doctorate from the University of Texas. He completed his training in internal medicine, cardiology, and cardiac electrophysiology at Boston University School of Medicine. Initially remaining on faculty at Boston University, Dr. Gururaj became co-director for cardiac science education for the BU School of Medicine while teaching Fellows the latest techniques in arrhythmia management. He is one of a few physicians in the country that hosts a national teaching course to help other cardiologists learn the surgical techniques of heart failure device implantation. Dr. Gururaj is board certified in internal medicine, cardiology, and cardiac electrophysiology.
