Dr. Valencia was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Cornell University. He then attended medical school at Cornell University Medical College in New York. He performed his Internal Medicine Residency at New York Presbyterian Hospital-Cornell. He performed his General Cardiology training at the New York University Medical School affiliated hospitals. He then found his way back to the West Coast where he performed an additional two years of Cardiac and Peripheral Intervention training at Scripps Clinic in La Jolla, California.

He and his wife, Diana, along with their two kids enjoy traveling and hiking. Additional personal interests include golf, swimming, tennis and running. He is fluent in Spanish.
